Mr. Yousef M. Al Nowais is the Managing Director of Al Maabar, and has been leading the development and implementation of the company’s strategic plans since its inception in March 2007.

In addition to over twenty five years experience in banking, finance, investment and tourism sectors, Mr. Al Nowais has been actively involved in developing and setting up new businesses as well as the acquisition of various organizations.

Prior to joining Al Maabar, Mr. Al Nowais occupied the position of Finance Director for the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and was General Manager of Ruwais Fertilizer (FERTIL) a subsidiary of ADNOC. He had also occupied the position of Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Emirates Holdings Group and sat on the Boards of several of its subsidiaries.

Mr. Al Nowais is currently the Chairman and Managing Director of Arab Development, a family-owned business group. He is also Chairman, Vice Chairman and Member of the Board for a number of prominent government and private institutions including AlDhafra Insurance Company, Sorouh Real Estate, Technical Metal Industries (TMI), and Drake and Skull International.

As Chief Executive Officer, Abdallah is responsible for the strategic management of Al Maabar. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of Al Maabar’s subsidiaries across the world and also the strategic planning, monitoring and management of the company’s numerous developments. Abdallah is an industry veteran with over 23 years experience in real estate development in the United States, Lebanon and the UAE. Prior to joining Al Maabar, Abdallah was Group CEO of Tameer Holding Investment. Abdallah earned his MSc in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He has also completed a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, USA.

Azmi joined Al Maabar in August 2007 with over 25 years of experience in both planning and development of mega projects, asset management and corporate general management. He has worked with a number of high profile companies in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including Sorouh and Nakheel. Azmi has a Bachelor of Science from Farleigh Dickinson University, USA.

Tan joined Al Maabar in May 2009 with more than 15 years of finance and investment experience with various multi-national companies both in the UAE and internationally. Prior to Al Maabar, Tan spent three years in Dubai working with Al Futtaim and Morgan Stanley on a private equity development fund and also the Omniyat Group working on a private equity investment fund in conjunction with Credit Suisse. He was also with Lum Chang Holding Ltd and Lend Lease Real Estate Investments Asia for a total of 10 years. Tan holds a Master's in Professional Accounting from the Victoria University of Technology in Australia. He also earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a focus on Economics from the University of New Brunswick, and a BSc. in Mathematical Science from the University of McMaster, Canada.

Ahmed is the Director of Business Development at Al Maabar. In this role, he is responsible for identifying and developing Al Maabar’s new business opportunities in international markets. He oversees the preparation and development of projects from concept stage to the awarding of operator contracts. Prior to joining Al Maabar in January 2009, Ahmed worked as the Deputy Director at the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development where he was responsible for overseeing projects in Sudan, Uzbekistan, Senegal, Egypt, Yemen, Algeria and Morocco. He also assisted in the implementation of marketing campaigns for several major development projects located in Abu Dhabi. Ahmed is a retired Major from the UAE Army. He holds an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology in Abu Dhabi.

Hussain joined Al Maabar in December 2007 as the Director of Corporate Human Resources & Administration. He is responsible for the development and implementation of HR Policies and Procedures. Prior to joining Al Maabar, Hussain had extensive experience in both strategic and operational HR activities gained with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Sorouh Real Estate Development.

He is a certified professional in HR & Compensation from the Human Resources Management Education Institute.

Karam joined Al Maabar in May 2011 with more than 20 years of communications experience from across the MENA region. As Corporate Communications & Marketing Director she has responsibility for the corporate PR and Communications (online and offline) for the Group in the MENA region. Prior to joining Al Maabar Karam worked in Dubai as Chief Marketing Officer with Nuqul Group, Chief Development Officer for K & K Communications Group and Sales & Marketing Director with Tameer Holding Investment. She has also undertaken key communications positions in Jordan, KSA and Morocco.

Karam holds a Masters degree in Enterprising Management from Durham Business School in the UK, a Diploma in Computer Aided Design from San Francisco State University in the US, and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Hartford in the US.

Emad Kilani has longstanding experience in the regional real estate and investment industries. As Chief Executive Officer of Al Maabar Jordan, he is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of Al Maabar’s flagship projects in the Kingdom, namely the Marsa Zayed project in Aqaba and The St. Regis Amman and The Residences at The St. Regis Amman.

Prior to joining Al Maabar, Kilani served as the Director of the Executive Office at the Prime Ministry, reporting directly to H.E. the Prime Minister of Jordan. He was in charge of high-level coordination between The Royal Hashemite Court and government ministries and institutions, and was responsible for following up on the implementation of royal initiatives in the government, His role also involved the facilitation of mega investments and development projects within the country, in addition to special assignments.

Kilani has extensive professional experience in Aqaba, where he worked as the Vice President for Investment and Corporate Affairs at the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and, prior to that, as Head of Business Development and Marketing at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). He was also a member of the Steering Committee for Development Zones in Jordan as well as the Vice Chairman of the Aqaba National Real Estate Projects Company. He has served on the boards of several other high profile companies, such as the Dead Sea Development Company, Aqaba Airports Company and the Aqaba International Schools Company.

Kilani has also worked for a number of blue chip companies operating in Silicon Valley, California, in the United States.

Kilani has a BSc. in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering with a minor in Business Management from California State University, in addition to being a Certified Project Manager.

Emhemmed Ghula is the Country Director for Al Maabar Libya where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development of the Al Waha project. He is a veteran of the real estate industry with significant experience managing some of Libya’s largest commercial and residential projects. Prior to joining Al Maabar, Emhemmed was the General Manager for the Libyan Foreign Investment Co. where he was in charge of the development of the Al-Fateh Tower project. He has also worked as project manager with the Arab Union Contracting Company. Emhemmed holds a Master’s degree in Construction Management and Techology from Loughborough University, UK . He has a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the United States International University in the UK.

Mohammed joined Al Maabar in April 2007. As the Country Director for Morocco, he is responsible for Al Maabar’s property development portfolio in the country. Mohammed has 37 years experience in commercial real estate development and marketing with major international and regional organizations.
